The anticipation is killing me!

I am so sorry that I have not posted in awhile. Work has been crazy and I have had some major snowballs thrown at me the past few weekends.

So apparently while pregnant my body is super sensitive when it comes to things like migraines. I have been dealing with migraines for about 9 years now. But the two migraines I've had while pregnant conclude with my face in the toilet. But to be positive, I have not had any morning sickness so I can't complain. The other snowball is my mother. If you don't know me personally then a little glimpse into my world is that my mother has Alzheimer's. She was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago. She is only 59. The Alzheimer's website states that only 24% of women with early-onset Alzheimer's make it past 4 years after being diagnosed. My mom has headed downhill fast in the past couple of years and I am doing everything I can to prepare myself and my family for the next 6 months. I will most likely not keep everyone posted on this unless you ask, only because I want this blog to be positive!!

                                So to be positive.........

On Tuesday, December 18th we get to find out the sex of the baby!! I will be 16 weeks pregnant so hopefully it will not be too early. I will be telling my family first and then I will update you all. I believe it is a girl because I have had the same exact pregnancy as my sister right down to the nose bleeds. Sven thinks it is a boy. Sven's mom had three boys and my mom had three girls. The anticipation is killing me! Post your bets now. Enjoy the 15 week bump picture and zoom in to laugh at how the flat, not rounded, bump lines up perfectly with the chalkboard. We did not do this on purpose.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and an amazing 2013! I will be in a food coma around the 25th so stay tuned for the gender reveal (if its not too early)!

I ate the turkey!

I am officially in my second trimester! I am so thrilled that I was able to get here without any morning sickness. Now I understand why my mother had four kids! I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving. I spent the weekend doing a little shopping for the nursery, spending time with family, eating, sleeping, went to my 12 week ultrasound, and umm eating! Some of my purchases include an awesome modern gray owl, sheep skin rug to put in front of the crib, some gender neutral baby clothes, and a white, blue, and coral picture frame from my sister (which is now my muse for the nursery). My idea for now is that boy or girl gray, white, and navy blue will be the colors. If its a boy we will then add pops of lighter blues. If its a girl we will add pops of coral. And we will know which colors to start shopping for on DECEMBER 18TH!!!! Our doctor agreed to telling us a month early so we could know before Christmas. I am counting down the days. Everyday I'm daydreaming about, "Is my adorable niece, Stella, going to have a girl or boy cousin?!" Sven and I have decided to throw a gender revealing party to share the news with everyone.

I did take a 12 week picture, but I apologize for the gruesomeness. It was so late at night and I was leaving the next day for Atlanta. I can't believe the difference from this picture and 2 weeks ago! You would have thought I ate the entire turkey.

8 Weeks

OK, so I am a little behind with my blogging. Work has been crazy busy! Here is a picture from the second ultrasound.

The little tiny line sticking out is a future arm, but as of right now it looks like a T-Rex. The heartbeat was much faster at this visit. It was 164, which wives tales say is a girl. So I can't wait to see where the heartbeat is at my 12 week appointment!

Many people have been asking how I am doing in relation to my symptoms. Well, I really don't have any. I have not experienced any morning sickness or cravings! The major differences are how fatigued I am all day, more breakouts, and the fact that I woke up one morning and had been given a boob job over night! But I can't complain. I just thank my luck stars that the women in my family are given good birthing genes.

I also mentioned that I would reveal my choice for how to capture the growing belly! Well, if you Pinterest, and have searched babies you may have seen a very talented woman with a chalkboard and a growing belly. I looked into these pictures further and discovered that it is a women who lives in Georgia and has a hilarious and fun to read blog, Little Baby Garvin. She has inspired me to use a chalkboard (something I've always wanted to buy DIY) and become more creative. So to catch you up on the bump I've posted weeks 8 and 10.

We go back to the doctor for my week 12 check up on Tuesday, November 20th. I will let you know about the heartbeat, post a new picture, and let you know about the doctor's decision to tell us the gender a month early...after I do my best to convince him! Wish me luck!

Nugget's First Picture

Today was the day that we got to see our little nugget for the first time. We heard the heartbeat and it was so incredibly fast. It was below 150, which wives tales say is a boy! The doctor said that our due date is June 4, 2013. That puts me at six weeks pregnant! If we had been one month later it could have had the same birthday as my niece, Stella. I am so happy that its birthday will be end of May/beginning of June. It just seems like a fun time of year to have a birthday...perfect weather, end of school year, possible birthday vacation, and pool parties!

We could not stop staring at this little dot after our appointment. We can't believe it's finally happening and there is actually something in there! We both were downloading mommy and daddy apps before we went to bed and we love learning more and more everyday about the developments. We have another ultrasound in two weeks. I will be posting another picture of little nugget after and revealing my choice for how I will do growing belly pictures!

Kentucky Suprise!

At the end of September I went to Murray, Kentucky to visit my sister, Rikki, and participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. We had an amazing time visiting with my niece, Stella. We shopped, ate, continuously talked about Stella & Dot jewelry, and I was down right dog tired. Friday, September 28th we were on our way out the door and I was chugging a water. I couldn't get enough! After only being out for a few hours we came back home and I was like a zombie on the couch. Rikki said I should take a pregnancy test, but I assured her it would be a waste of money. She did it anyways just for the fun of it. After months and months of negatives I did not want all attention on me when the results were in. So I snuck off with a test.

I think finding out with Jenna and Rikki was the perfect way! We then proceeded to scheme up a plan on how to tell my husband, Sven. We found the cutest grey converse baby shoes and decided to hang them from my German Shepherd's collar and send her on her way towards Sven to change his life! With the help of my sister, Jenna, I was sitting right next to Sven to enjoy his reaction. We are both so excited to reach this next step in our lives together. We are enjoying every moment of learning about the baby and its journey out! Since most of my family and friends are so spread out I decided to create this blog and share this special time in our lives.

The pressure is on! I truly hope I turn out to be an interesting blogger. So to keep me on my toes and ideas pouring out, please ask me questions on things you'd like me to expand on or talk about! So from pregnancy tests to nursery to 4am diaper changing parties....here we go!
